How Will the Chemistry and Biology Regents Effectively Address the Chemistry And Biology Finances?
How Will the Chemistry and Biology Regents Effectively Address the Chemistry And Biology Finances? The Chemistry Regents' Meeting this June is being billed as a 'tradition' that is held to 'promote' a 'critical path' for the department of Chemistry and its faculty. The Board of Regents spent a great deal of time in Washington, D.C. this past week, making certain that no matter what the outcome, the university will be facing serious financial challenges due to recent budget cuts. A new budget might not have been necessary if the university officials could come up with an alternate solution to the problem, yet they failed.Just about every dollar and cent matters when it comes to funding the school's tuition rates. In fact, every single element of the academic system goes into the equation. This is particularly true when the president of the university is up for election. If he or she happens to be facing an election campaign in June, it is obvious that the university is in serious finan cial crisis.Since there are only three Board of Regents seats, the election of a new president is very important for the chemistry department. If the chemistry department is underfunded, the president might not be able to be re-elected. That would be unfortunate, since his or her knowledge and experience in chemistry would surely be invaluable to the students. Thus, a budget for the school's chemistry department has to be done very soon. And that is what the regents are so worried about. If they do not get the budget they need by this June, they could face financial problems that are just too much to handle. As if this were not enough, the school is already having trouble paying its creditors as well.In case you have not heard, the Biology Department is very much in trouble as well. There are high interest payments to be made to pay off a group of angry borrowers who sued the university. So far, the Biology Regents has not been able to come up with the money they need for the payment and this is not expected to change any time soon. In addition, the school is facing an aggressive lawsuit from the Education Department regarding funding for the faculty and student programs. The chemistry department and the biology department are just two of the departments on the chopping block for the new president. If the new president does not focus on the departments soon, they may lose several positions at the beginning of the next academic year. Such a scenario would cause immense chaos within the chemistry department and Biology Department. In order to avoid such a scenario, the new president has to make sure he or she gets the budget he or she needs in time. The only way the new president can be successful is to ensure that all of the regents get what they need before June. The last thing the new president should want is for the regents to get something and then find themselves without the resources needed to complete the job.The chemistry department and the biology departm ent face big challenges this year. Without the budget they need for the coming year, the results will be disastrous. Students will not receive the support they need, and the chemistry department and the biology department will continue to suffer.
